Über den Autor
Elisabetta D'Agata is an expert psychologist in the field of scoliosis, strongly motivated in her work by her personal experience as a patient.
Born in Sicily, Italy, where she got her university degree in Psychology, she moved to Barcelona, Spain and has been living there for 13 years. This is where she completed her European PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology, studying the Quality of Life of Adolescent Patients with Idiopathic Scoliosis (2011).
After working in the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (Barcelona, 2012-2018), Elisabetta D'Agata is now an independent researcher, author of several scientific articles and a reviewer for prestigious scientific journals. She has actively participated in SOSORT (Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment) Congress since 2009.
As a clinical psychologist and a European certified Specialist in Psychotherapy (EuroPsy), she trained in Somatic Psychotherapy (Biosynthesis, CPSB). She has managed the Adolescent Scoliosis Group for emotional and body expression for 5 years and she has been working in her private practice (including patients with scoliosis) since 2011.
She enjoyed giving classes in some important and specific educational programs organized by ISICO (World Master Course), Scoliosis and Spine Online Learning, Vall d'Hebron Hospital. She is a teacher in Courses for Physical Therapists, as well as a supervisor of Physical Therapists (University of Girona, Universitat Autonoma of Barcelona, Private Centers of PTs).
She also loves art, nature and traveling.
