Portrait of a lady
Über das eBook
"Elizabeth" is a beloved, educated, but poor American girl. Wealth falls upon her from the sky, making her a target for fortune hunters. What will she do? Henry James. An English novelist and critic of American origin. He was born in 1843 in New York to a wealthy family and died in 1916. At a young age, he read English, American, French, German and European literature. He participated in editing several monthly magazines, such as "Atlantic" magazine. He is considered the founder and leader of the school of realistic literature, and he believed that the art of fiction depends on the rich influences that nourish the writer's imagination from the surrounding environment. He wrote more than 24 long novels, such as (Daisy Miller), (The Wings of the Dove), (The Golden Plate), and (Washington Square), and a very large number of letters and literary lectures. Henry James was famous in his novels for the convergence of America and Europe through his fictional characters, as well as his wonderful use of monologue or the internal dialogue of the characters, as we will notice in the novel Portrait of a Lady or Portrait of a Lady, which was turned into a cinematic work with the same title in 1996, starring Nicole Kidman, and won many awards.
