Odyssey
Über das eBook
The story of the Odyssey is an epic branching from the story of the Trojan Wars, those long, ancient wars that broke out between the armies of the Greek city-states and the armies of Troy and their allies from Asia Minor at that time, and their reason is what we mentioned in the story of the Iliad, when Paris, the son of King Priam of Troy, came as a guest of the king. Menelaus, King of Sparta, soon stole his wife and treasures and fled to Troy. A war broke out that lasted ten years until the Greek armies were able to storm the city thanks to the trick indicated by Odysseus, the hero of the story of the Odyssey, which was the trick of the huge wooden horse in which an elite group of the bravest knights of the Greek army hid. It is mentioned in the story of the Trojan Wars. The Odyssey is described as "an epic that inspired generations of writers throughout the ages." Its influence reached its peak in our time, and extended to areas far from literature, such as: industry and commerce. On the literary level, writers were inspired by the Odyssey in new creations, such as James Joyce's novel "Ulysses," Nikos Kazantzakis's epic novel "The Odyssey: A Contemporary Sequel," and the collection "Dawn of the Odyssey" by the Egyptian poet Muhammad al-Barqi. Modern Arabic poetry was also influenced by this epic. A number of writers rewrote the Odyssey in prose, with different visions. There are many names given to this epic internationally, such as: "Odysseus, Odyssey, Ulysses, Ulysses, and Ulysses."
