The Outcast...a detective novel

"The Outcast" is a detective novel by Georges Simenon. Its hero is "Spencer Ashey," a history teacher who is fond of woodcarving, and who finds himself accused of killing "Belle," his wife's friend, who was killed under mysterious circumstances. The strange thing here is that the murder occurred under the roof of his house, just a few steps away from it. So how could he not have felt the killer when he entered the house and when he committed his crime?! How can he acquit himself in front of his wife and others?
Georges Simenon is a French-speaking Belgian writer. He is considered one of the most prolific and most prolific writers. He wrote nearly 500 novels and 100,000 short stories, in addition to an autobiography he called "Dictations," in 20 huge volumes. Most of his novels have been adapted. To cinematic works, he is the creator of the character of Detective Maigret, who appeared in most of his stories and novels, and his character was embodied in a famous television series.
