The answer comes by following the life of the hero Raphael, whose wishes come true in a dream-like form, but which becomes a reality that transports him from one state to another.
Raphael's life, his ambitions, his pain, his questions about life and death and what goes on between them, embody the life of man as a whole in his aspiration for great wishes that he thinks will never come true, and when they become a reality they carry with them the seeds of the end, as if the saying: "Be careful of what you wish for" is true of a hero's condition.
