Dialectical materialism
Über das eBook
Henri Lefebvre begins his book "Dialectical Materialism" with the words of the great philosopher Hegel in his book "The Phenomenology of the Spirit": "The life of the spirit is not the life that panics in the face of death and distances itself far from all corruption, but it is the life that tolerates the presence of death within its scope and keeps itself alive." Within the realm of death Henri Lefebvre was a French philosopher and sociologist. He studied philosophy as a student at the Sorbonne University and graduated in 1920. In 1924, he joined a group of philosophers whose goal was to bring about a philosophical revolution, and this also brought Lefebvre into contact with the Surrealist and Dada movements before he belonged to the French Communist Party. After Henri Lefebvre joined the French Communist Party in 1928, he became one of the most important Marxist thinkers during the second quarter of the twentieth century and before joining the French resistance against the Nazis during World War II and the Nazi occupation of France. Henri Lefebvre was prolific, and this book, "Dialectical Materialism," is considered one of his most important books ever. It includes criticism of the Hegelian dialectic, historical materialism, and dialectical materialism. It also discusses human production through physical determinism, social determinism, and others, until it reaches the comprehensive human being.
