The state theoretically and practically

In his important book "The State in Theory and Practice," the political thinker Harold J. Laski starts from the basic idea that the state is not an ideal entity, but rather a product of power relations and interests in society. كان "هارولد ج. لاسكي" (1893-1950) واحدًا من أبرز المُفكّرين السياسيّين في القرن العشرين. وقد اشتُهر بِدفاعِهِ عن الديمقراطية الاشتراكية وَنقدِهِ للرأسمالية. وَقد أثّرت كتاباتُهُ تأثيرًا كبيرًا في حركةِ العمّال في بريطانيا وَفي عديدٍ من دُوَلِ العالم.
