Specters from Mai's life

Miss Mai Ziadeh was a teacher alone. She was a brilliant writer, an insightful thinker, and a conservative Arab. She combined the literature of emotion, the literature of the soul, and the love of preserving traditions. She supported freedom of thought, abstained from pettiness, and never mentioned anything bad to anyone.
Her sessions and her literary salon were the best evidence of the sweetness of conversation, the purity of the soul, the gentleness of the senses, the tenderness of emotion, and the tenderness of conscience, which reminds us of the princess of Andalusia, "Walada bint Al-Mustakfi Billah" in the fifth century AH. The travels of literature sang, and the movements of Andalusian poetry wavered in its literary gatherings. She was rare among the women of her time, and the only one who possessed intelligence, literature, and brilliance. Like "May," she used to sit with scholars and writers, discuss with them, debate with them, and oppose them about a mature mind, proud talent, elevation in development, and honor in the soul. She never tended toward suspicion, nor did she slip into sin, and she lived a long life. She never married!
Perhaps Miss "May" in our modern era was closer to her in her literary merits, even if she differed from her in her emotional tendencies. In fact, "May" surpassed "Walada" due to her breadth of intellectual horizon, abundance of knowledge, and knowledge of a number of foreign languages.
