Über das eBook

After repeated steps from structuralism to post-structuralism, modernism and beyond, stylistics, deconstruction, linguistics, textualism and cultural criticism, passing through approaches such as intertextuality, psychological criticism, theories of reading and reception, pragmatics, and what falls within (criticism) in its loose sense, the critic Dr. Abu Al-Yazid Al-Sharqawi once again poses this question: What is poetry? What is criticism? What is the relationship between them?
This book contains two chapters: the first is related to the mechanisms of understanding, and this is the most difficult problem in modern criticism, which almost believes that understanding poetry is not a required thing, and even if we understand it, that does not mean criticizing it, but more than that, it is preferable if poetry is not understood. The second chapter revolves around the mechanisms of deducing the meaning of this poetry. Does it actually have (significance)? And if it does, where is it? Is it in the text or outside the text, and can we trust something (a meaning) that we point to and say: This is the meaning of the poem?
This study falls within the framework of criticism of criticism (meta-criticism), and instead of chatting about the validity of these approaches that grew up in civilizational and cultural contexts that are alien to us, and were imported and activated in an Arab culture that differs in its civilizational and cultural context from the intellectual reference of these approaches, and raises the same dust that it raised. Previous people have talked about the same point. Instead, this study advances to test the validity of these methods for exploring the poetics of an Arabic text.
