Muhammad Shukri: The temptation of living and writing

Mohamed Shukri lived many friendships, companionships, and companionships with many people, including intellectuals and creative people: Mohamed Barrada (with whom he exchanged many letters, which were printed in a book), the writer Tahar Benjelloun (who translated his biography: The Bare Bread, into French), and the novelist Mohamed Zafzaf. And the poet Abdul Latif Al-Fouadi, the playwright Al-Zubair bin Bushti, and others. His maid, Fathiya, also lived with him for decades, during which he accompanied many people, including Al-Rabyou, Mustafa, and others.
Through and through writing, Muhammad Shukri tried to be better than he was before he wrote, and he achieved this, despite the social and political anxiety he experienced that made her life very tense, and he could not rest from the hardship of life except when he lived another life in the imagination of writing. I belong to the generation of the seventies, who lived through the years of lead and lived dreams of change.
Novelist Muhammad Ezz al-Din al-Tazi says: "I consider myself close to Muhammad Shukri. He revealed to me many of his life's experiences, and he befriended me as I befriended him. The details I tell in this book are only moments I lived with him, over the course of decades, as he lived his legend." He left us to live this legend again, and to circulate it among ourselves. He had his city, Tangier, in which he lived his life, jealous that no other writer would write about it. He had the writing through which he continued to recall the wounds of childhood, its careless moments, and its innocence that discovered the filth of the world. .
