The events take place on the tropical islands, where a fanatical priest imposed his control in the name of God. He met a flirtatious prostitute and besieged her until she surrendered to him, then he fell into sin with her (he lusted for her all the time without knowing it), and then he committed suicide and the prostitute screamed that all men are pigs. The hero of the novel wanted to guide the prostitute whom he saw as lost - from his narrow perspective - and because his faith He was false. He fell into sin and punished himself by committing suicide.
