History of sociology
Über das eBook
Under every society there are latent social principles that rarely crystallize. Such principles are found only in the organizations of societies that are more primitive. Everything that goes on in such societies seems as if the laws, rights, and family and social organization resulted from a certain number of principles and motives. One of the main tasks of the science of studying humanity and history is to extract these principles and motives from the totality of facts that such sciences are based on studying.
Historians, including Greek scholars and nomads, have conveyed to us some pictures of the ancient East and its social organizations, and these pictures reflect the great status that religious rituals had among those peoples. Herodotus pointed out that the ideology of the ancient Egyptians, for example, was a kind of support for the social organization they envisioned in relation to religion.
