Islam and health education
Über das eBook
The subject of this book emerged from a study submitted for a doctoral degree in health education from Indiana University in the United States of America in 1979, the subject of which was "The Islamic religion as a basis for the health education program."
The study addresses the definition of the health teachings contained in the texts of the Holy Qur'an or brought by the Noble Prophet's Sunnah of advantage or virtue.
The majority of the Islamic world is part of what is known as the "Third World" or "developing countries." Although some of these countries are considered among the richest countries in the world economically, they still share the problems of many developing countries, such as widespread illiteracy, low health standards, and lack of services.
Through education, most of these problems can be solved, especially those related to health, and health education may be the first step towards spreading awareness among individuals in order to work on developing and acquiring appropriate health behaviors. In order to achieve this, health education must be available to all people, regardless of their age, social levels, or economic status. A person needs health knowledge throughout his life and on an ongoing basis.
