Science and society

The author of the book Crowther, J. - from which we present to Arabic readers excerpts - is one of the men of science in Britain, and he is a social scientist who views science not as pure knowledge that has no connection to the society in which it exists, but rather sees science as an effective tool in building society and its development and a means of progress. Material and intellectual, and a path to renaissance and civilization, not in its limited sense, which is represented by inventions, discoveries, modern machines, and manifestations of luxury and well-being, but in its broad meaning, which includes the human being himself in his mind and body, individually and collectively, and in his hopes, deeds, feelings, and sensations. Knowledge with all of these aspects has a close connection and a strong bond.
