Therese Racan
Über das eBook
Emile Zola, in his novel "Thérèse Racan", makes his characters captive to an idea that dominates them so that they do not notice what is going on around them, and they end up colliding and falling into disasters, because they walk, motivated by their whims, in parallel lines like railway tracks.
This novel was published for the first time in 1867 AD in Paris, and on that day it sparked a wave of anger against him in bourgeois circles. Newspapers described it as belonging to "rotten literature" and included it on the blacklist, demanding that it be confiscated and that its author be brought to trial. But the novel, despite the official attack on it, found great interest among readers, so it was secretly circulated, and its author became famous. He was still twenty-seven years old. The novel inaugurated the natural tendency in literature. It also became a reference for Zola himself, who has not written any more since then, except on the basis of One of the criteria he set for literary work in that novel.
