History of Ibn Khaldun

We do not know of any scientist or philosopher before Ibn Khaldun who singled out the science of the nature of urbanization and what is called today sociology, even though this science was not one of the hidden secrets nor one of the investigations in which the thoughts of the wise did not wander. It has been proven that the philosophers before Ibn Khaldun noticed this knowledge and referred to it in the multiplication of their discussions, but they did not achieve in it anything of the understanding that Ibn Khaldun attained, nor did they investigate it with that investigation that made him in this topic a fabric alone, until he was given the reins of leadership in it, for he is the author. He taught sociology by consensus, and he did not claim from it a heedless person who is not a teacher, nor a traitor who is not a master.
