Introduction to archaeology

This book presents in five chapters a summary of the history and development of archeology, and how to excavate and search for antiquities. These chapters correct misconceptions about archaeology, so Dr. Hassan Al-Basha begins his introduction to the translation by saying: "Many people think that excavation for antiquities is merely constant, painstaking digging for the sake of Obtaining valuable antiquities or beautiful antiques brings fame and wealth to their discoverers, but archeology in its modern meaning is distinctly different from that."
The book seeks to change the misconception and view antiquities as mere material treasures, as their value is not in precious metals or stones, but in fact they are primarily a literary and cultural value.
