At sunrise on Tuesday, the eleventh of July 1882, the British fleet began firing its missiles at Alexandria. One of its castles responded after the tenth salvo, and the other castles responded after the fifteenth salvo. The firing of the fleet on the city continued until five o'clock, and did not stop.
