Bare houses

Arrive early before the line starts. He sat in class alone. A deep silence surrounds the school. Place the bag on the floor, and close the windows. He stood looking through the glass, the cars were few, the asphalt was wet, and everything was cold. Remember last night's dream. He saw Hani flying in the school yard, fluttering and sprouting wings. He flies happily above all of their heads, and the children point to him laughing and an obese teacher whose face cannot be seen.
He wanted to write down the vision before he forgot. He was about to take out the notebook and pen before his colleagues came, and he saw that the sun had risen and was falling on the old houses, as if supporting their tired walls, which had been eroded by moisture and weighed down by the passage of time.
