Reviving the memory of the Egyptians

Dear reader:
The book that I present to you is part of my thinking and my preoccupation with public affairs over the course of nearly twenty years. It includes a selection of articles that appeared in Al-Ahali newspaper in the "Snapshots" column between the years 1998 and 2015. It was a long period that witnessed many serious events. Frankly, I would not have planned to publish these articles in a book, had it not been for the urging of a number of friends and readers. They thought it would be very useful to make these articles available to a new readership in book form. The process of compiling all the articles I wrote during this long period, which amounted to approximately 800 articles, was not an easy task due to the length of time, the absence of a comprehensive archive, and the dispersion of the articles among clippings from Al-Ahaly newspaper and files inside my personal computer...etc. The task was like Isis trying to collect the remains of Osiris in the Pharaonic legend - with a difference, of course. After collecting what was possible, it was necessary to choose a limited number of them. I thought it would be useful to publish them in a book of a reasonable size, so this was the collection you have in your hands.
