The author of these memoirs is Ismail Sidqi Pasha (June 1875 - July 9, 1950). He served as prime minister twice, the first time during the reign of King Fuad, during which the 1923 constitution was abolished and the 1930 constitution was issued. The second time was during the reign of King Farouk, and he tried to form a national ministry in which he would participate. Representatives of all political parties, and a prime minister with a strong personality and a politician with no party affiliation was chosen for it during that stage, but in the end Only the Liberal Constitutional Party and independents participated in it.
Sidqi's first period of rule (1930-1933) is considered one of the most prominent periods in contemporary Egyptian history, during which he was able to impose his well-studied reform policies in all fields, and Egypt was able to overcome the economic crisis that passed through the entire world at that time.
Sedqi says: "My public life is part of the life of the nation that I have served throughout these years... and recording its events may be what helps the historian who wants to investigate Egypt's modern history and uncover its secrets, because I participated in many major events and in the stages of Egyptian development since From the dawn of the twentieth century until today... Western men have become accustomed to writing down their memoirs, and they consider them an obligation on the present generation for future generations, and an integral part of the nation's history... Therefore, I responded and began to dictate these memoirs as much as they would allow. memory, and I am very keen to write down the facts."
