"Jane Eyre" is a novel in which Charlotte Brontë preceded her time by various standards. In it, she presented progressive ideas about equality between men and women in a world in which men rule from door to door, while women are second-class beings. On the other hand, she presented a novelistic model different from the prevailing one in Literary circles at that time, specifically in the field of romantic novels, without forgetting the enormous diversity in the literary style followed between romance, horror, and social criticism in an unusual mixture at that time.
What draws attention in Jane Eyre is not the woman who is its main character, but rather the independence and inclination towards freedom that characterized this woman, which made her a female character who controls the course of the novel's events and its details.
