Talking about Arab theater raises several preliminary problems that must be cleared, and the first of these problems comes from the fact that theater is not one of the traditional literary arts, which the ancient Arabs knew and left us with a heritage similar to what they left in other literary arts, such as the arts of praise, satire, lamentations, poetry, maqamat, sermons, and so on. One of the traditional arts of poetry and prose among the Arabs.
However, this phenomenon does not exempt the speaker of theater from searching for what this art might have from distant historical origins among the ancient Egyptians or among the Arabs. Rather, it does not exempt him from clarifying the reasons that prevented the emergence of this art among the ancient Arabs or that prevented them from adopting this art from The Greeks somehow took from them philosophy, logic, and some sciences when they flourished.
