Ancient Egyptian dance
Über das eBook
Dancing occupied a great place in the lives of the ancient Egyptians, and they did not accept it only out of a desire for fun, amusement, or entertainment. Rather, they took it as a means of worshiping the Creator and a means of getting closer to Him. They considered it a manifestation of their pleasure and gratitude for the blessings that God had bestowed upon them. They also resorted to it upon the death of someone dear to them, seeking to bring joy to the heart of the deceased, and to expel evil spirits that might harm him.
Dancing was also considered a refined and sacred art that the gods practiced and enjoyed watching, and was practiced by the king or his representative during celebrations and holidays, and accepted by everyone, both public and private. They also frequently depicted it - among the aspects of daily life they depicted - on the walls of their tombs, which allowed us to form a good idea of its various types, movements, and manifestations.
