Governance in Islam is based on one of two foundations: pledge of allegiance or shura. However, there are no texts ordering the adoption of a specific system of government, so Islam does not conflict with the monarchy or republican system, and according to the principle of Shura, Islam grants Muslims the right to choose the system of government that suits them and their time, unless this includes any legal impediment.
This book is full of hadiths of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, that were concerned with democracy. It is what the Messenger said in his life; It made the nation of Islam a great nation to emulate.
