Aesthetics of Arabic Calligraphy and Letter Formation
Über das eBook
Ibn Khaldun says: "Calligraphy is literal drawings and shapes that indicate the audible words that indicate what is in the soul. It is the second level of linguistic significance and it is a noble craft. Writing is one of the characteristics of man that distinguishes him from animals."
Arabic writings written in the Musnad script have been found in various places in the Arabian Peninsula, so historians consider it the first Arabic script, or even the most authentic script, and some people from Yemen continued to write in the Musnad script after Islam. When Islam came, it was the starting point.
We can say that the first artistic and aesthetic step of Arabic calligraphy began with the dawn of Islam, and perhaps the first manifestation of art and beauty that the Arabs concerned themselves with after their conversion to Islam was in beautifying the calligraphy and intonation of the verses of the Holy Qur'an in writing, just as they meant by intonation for reading and chanting.
