The Purpose of Life (Lecture)

Writer Mai Ziadeh attempts to diagnose the conditions of Arab women in this lecture. She emphasizes that Arab women need to breathe life into their veins and urge them to move forward to achieve their goals and obtain their wasted rights.
The writer says, "I do not know of a sentence as serious as "the purpose of life," and it is more escaping the limits of definition. The word "life" in its full meaning includes the entire universe of what is seen and what is unseen, and it is that hidden current that permeates everything, surrounding every being. It contains power and might that has impressed upon us that it is from the Spirit of God, as if we consider life to be breezes of light and refreshment emanating from the chest of that great power in which we are all swimming in seas. Its quality, and we call it "God."
