From the Prophet's Conquests

The invasions that the Messenger led or sent not only contributed to increasing the area of ​​the Islamic world, but they are also considered an honorable record in the history of the military throughout history. The first thing he recommended to his soldiers was to preserve human rights. He forbade them from killing children, women, and the elderly, and forbade them from burning crops and destroying the property of enemies. He also treated his captives well, responded to their demands, and took into account their special conditions. He often released their poor who could not ransom themselves.
The goal, as some Orientalists see, of these conquests was not to spread the message by the sword, but rather to establish the meaning of elevating the word of truth above falsehood, and the amount of tolerance with which the Prophet and Muslims dealt with the people of the countries they entered is the best evidence of the roots of this meaning.
