History of Theater
Über das eBook
Theater, like all arts, has its origins in magic, that is, in the attempt to influence nature by the power of human will, and to transform ideas into strange things. In the early times of theater, every individual was an actor, and there was no distinction between the actor and the rest of the tribe. The world was the stage, and the stage for acting was a sacred place, and those present were of two types: performers and seekers. There was only an imaginary or moral space separating the actors from the viewers, and it finally became a physical barrier. It is tangible, and finally, thousands of miles separate the actor and viewers.
The origin of theater in all civilizations goes back to religious ritual celebrations, and the evidence is a manuscript of an Egyptian religious play written before 2000 BC, and it revolves around Osiris and his resurrection. Greek drama (which is the origin of Western theatrical writing) arose from celebrations of the worship of the god Dionysus. People would put masks on their faces, dance and sing to celebrate his memory.
